Privacy Policy

Cybersecurity Check respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, how it may be shared, how long we keep it, and how you can contact us about your information.

Last updated: 5 June 2026

This policy applies to the Cybersecurity Check website, early access forms, preview checks, and future product communications. This is a practical draft for review before publishing and is not legal advice.

Who we are

Cybersecurity Check is a website security checking service designed to help businesses understand visible website security risks.

You can contact us about privacy at admin@cybersecuritycheck.com.au.

What personal information means

Personal information means information that identifies you or could reasonably identify you.

Examples may include your name if provided in the future, email address, company name, website URL submitted through a form, IP address, device and browser information, usage and session data, payment information if paid plans are added, and support or enquiry information.

Cybersecurity Check does not intentionally collect sensitive information through the landing page.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Email address submitted for early access.
  • Company name, if provided.
  • Website URL, if provided.
  • Website URL entered into the preview checker.
  • Messages submitted through contact or support forms.
  • Future account information if the SaaS app adds user accounts.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring pages, basic analytics and performance information, and cookies or similar tracking data if enabled.

Information from third-party services

  • HubSpot form or CRM data if HubSpot is enabled.
  • Analytics data if analytics tools are enabled.
  • Payment or subscription data if payment tools are added in the future.

The landing page does not ask for passwords, request private account access, or intentionally collect sensitive personal information. The preview checker is designed around visible website signals only.

How we collect information

We may collect information when you enter a URL into the preview checker, submit the early access form, request the checklist or launch updates, contact Cybersecurity Check, interact with cookies, analytics, logs, or similar technologies, or use trusted third-party providers that help operate the website.

How we use information

Cybersecurity Check may use information to provide preview website security results, register early access interest, send launch updates, send the free Website Security Checklist, provide a free launch scan report if available, respond to enquiries, improve Cybersecurity Check, understand website usage and performance, maintain security and prevent misuse, develop future SaaS features, manage future accounts, billing, or support if paid plans are introduced, and comply with legal obligations if required.

Website URLs submitted for checking

When you enter a website URL, Cybersecurity Check may use that URL to generate a preview result or future scan report.

  • The preview check is designed around visible website signals only.
  • It does not ask for passwords.
  • It does not access private systems.
  • It does not run invasive testing from the landing page.
  • Deeper checks in the full app may require account verification and explicit approval.
  • Submitted URLs may be stored to provide reports, improve the product, prevent misuse, or follow up with users who requested early access.

Email, lead capture, and marketing

If you join early access, Cybersecurity Check may use your email address and optional details to send launch updates, the Website Security Checklist, product updates, free launch scan reports if available, and related Cybersecurity Check communications.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

How information may be shared

Cybersecurity Check may share information with trusted third parties where needed to operate the website or provide services. These may include HubSpot for forms, CRM, and email communications, hosting providers such as Cloudflare, website analytics providers if enabled, future backend or API providers used to process scan requests, payment providers if paid plans are added, and customer support tools if added.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, systems, or the public. We do not sell personal information.

Data storage and retention

Cybersecurity Check keeps personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

  • Early access details may be kept until you unsubscribe or ask for removal.
  • Website URLs may be kept to provide reports, prevent misuse, or improve the service.
  • Analytics and log data may be kept for a limited period to understand usage and maintain security.
  • Future billing or account records may be kept as required for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.

You can contact Cybersecurity Check to request deletion of your early access details.

How we protect information

Cybersecurity Check takes reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

These steps may include limiting access to submitted information, avoiding collection of unnecessary sensitive information, not storing passwords from the landing page, using trusted service providers, keeping private API keys out of frontend code, using secure development practices where practical, and reviewing access as the product grows.

No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, so we avoid over-collecting information and keep improving our practices as the product develops.

Cookies and analytics

Cybersecurity Check may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality, analytics, performance, form tracking, and improving the website. We may use analytics tools in the future to understand how visitors use the site.

You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Overseas disclosure

Some third-party service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where this happens, Cybersecurity Check takes reasonable steps to use reputable providers and protect information appropriately.

Access, correction, and deletion requests

You may contact Cybersecurity Check to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Contact us at admin@cybersecuritycheck.com.au.

We may need to verify your identity before actioning certain requests.
